John Edwards, you are going to hell.
I bought into the whole package, the attractive, well-spoken family man. He cared about our country and where it was going. I will sadly admit that I thought that they were and odd match, but they seemed devoted to one another. When she was diagnosed with cancer my heart hurt for them and when they announced that it was incurable I felt worse. Then the news, “John Edwards father’s a love child.” There it was in black and white and in color on CNN. My trust in another politician crumpled.
I know that Kennedy had a multitude of affairs, and that yes Bill got a blow job (the one that we know about for sure), but those don’t bother me nearly as much as the Edward’s affair. HE HAD AN AFFAIR WHILE HIS WIFE WAS CAMPAIGNING FOR HIM AND FIGHTING CANCER!!!! Yes the caps are warranted here, because it equals the yelling that was going on in my head. What a slime ball.
It should be the quality of their work that matters, right? As long as they lead the populace well they can diddle whomever they please. I am beginning to think not. Doesn’t it speak to their character? That they can smile and hold hands with someone while stabbing them in the back? Divorce truly doesn’t bother me. Go ahead, get one. It’s the standing on TV, while your wife watches and saying to the country, yes I betrayed her and I am only admitting it now because I got caught that makes me sick.
I understand that I don’t know what their relationship is like . Maybe they truly are a business deal (like Bill and Hilary seem to be); if that were the case it would be a comfort.
Now I watch John and Cindy McCain with wide eyes. Maybe theirs is the prescription for how to be a successful, adultoerous, political couple? You just wait, bidding your time. Before you know it your former mistress and now wife can proudly introduce you to a convention hall of conservative Christians. Yes, with enough distance from the immorality you can gain their trust and be their candidate for President. I have figured out a way to make myself feel better about it. Somebody, please sew a scarlet letter to their breasts or better yet, run it along the ticker on the bottom of the television. That way neither they nor we will forget.
You just have to remember that John Edwards believes in two Americas. And in one of them, he wasn’t married.
Dig the post. Keep ‘em coming.

More than anything, I feel for his wife. That poor woman. Fighting cancer, standing by her husband campaigning and then this blows up. It comes to the point where you have to wonder if any politician has been faithful, or do they think they are entitled to do anything? I can only shake my head in wonder.
