Random Debate Thoughts
How in the name of all that is holy do you call freezing government programs taking care of the little people? Those programs support the people that are in need in this country and continue to be largely ignored. I was terrified when McCain was talking, terrified.
How do you continue to bailout EVERYONE IN GODS GREEN EARTH and not increase taxes for anyone? I am having a hard time making the math add up here.
The looming problems we are all stressed about have been present for a long time. Is it really reasonable to think that we can attack all of them at once and come up with any true fair and lasting solutions? I felt like McCain was saying what he thought people wanted to hear and felt better when Obama gave more realistic time tables for what he wanted to accomplish.
The town meeting format is retarded. It allowed them to attack each other without allowing for any true rebuttal. Which lead to the deterioration of each question following.
He suspended his campaign to deal with the financial crisis! Did everyone hear that? Ok, Senator McCain, it seems everyone knows now. Maybe you could tell us what that accomplished?
Senator McCain I am not your friend, and every time you say that word it infuriates me.
Election Day, please get here soon. I don’t think that we can take much more of this.
Between “My friend” and “Ronald Reagan my hero” it was all I could do to keep my dinner down. The fact that McCain wants to freeze government spending with the exception of the military and defense is appalling to me. He’s totally clueless. If he wins, I’m moving.

I think I have a problem with the whole “I suspended my campaign to fix the financial crisis” thing because really all he did was make an incredible strategy mistake by not appearing on Letterman (but finding time to be interviewed by another network instead), and then be part of the fiasco that resulted in a bailout plan rejected by the House. There are probably some politicians who take longer “lunch” periods than the time the campaign was suspended. It was hyper-drama for the media attention. It was soundbyte material. It was nothing real or substantial, but substantial seems to be a bit out of the Republican grasp at the moment.
